Skin Care Basics Part II

Makeup is a great way to highlight your strong facial features while blending “weaker” points into the background. It works great to hide flaws (pimples, dark eye circles), but it can only hide so much and still look natural to the eye. Your face is essentially the canvas to which makeup is applied on and how fabulous would it be if you can work on a blank fresh canvas every single time? Obviously mondo fabulous!!! A great makeup look is double the awesome when it’s on beautiful smooth healthy skin!

In Part I of the guide, we went over the factors that determines and affects our skin (Step 1) as well as how to identify which skin category you might fit in (Step 2). If you skipped that part, Step 2 can be read here. In this entry, I will cover Step 3, the final step in Skin Care Basics and using this step, hopefully it will give you some good leads on how to choose products and develop a skin care routine that works just for you!

Before we get to Step 3, please keep in mind that the guide will evolve as continuous research and better technology leads to more innovative products being developed and the masses (you and I) become aware. Also, for those with acne problems, while you may need doctor prescribed medication to keep breakouts under control or whatever the case may be, it’s still good to remind yourself of the basics. =)

Well then, let’s get to the good stuff! This is a basic skin guide and so the routines presented here are applicable to girls ranging from teens all the way to ladies in their early 30's. It is true that as you age, your skin's needs will be change and so in later skin guides, I will talk about exfoliation, microdermabrasion, and the use of masks to give skin a healthy boost.
