Korres Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara Review

Korres' Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara came with Sephora's Lash Stash set and is the first mascara I tried after my purchase. I've read lots of great things about it so let's see how it worked out. The product description taken from Sephora's website reads:

The blackest, black mascara derived from volcanic soil that increases lash volume by 600 percent.

This Obsidian black is formulated with volcanic minerals for the deepest, darkest color and an explosive increase in lash volume. These rich pigments blend with natural film formers to create a flexible yet strong coating that covers every lash. Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara provides a glossy, luminous finish with a flexible conditioned feel, without any smudging or flakes for optimal, long-wearing benefits. The tapered brush head with unique cross-hatch bristles ensures smooth, clump-free application that grabs even the tiniest microlashes.

Korres produces natural products therefore naturally the mascara does not contain the following chemicals and it is also paraben-free.

- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

The mascara is obsidian black (a.k.a very black) and is a little more water resistant than most other mascaras I've used. This also means that it's a long lasting mascara. No doubt about it. You will absolutely need some makeup remover to remove the product and it comes off very easily with it.

I have Asian lashes with regular volume that are on the longer side. The mascara did lengthen and give my lashes more volume, but I had to apply a dozen coats to get close to desirable results. There was little to no clumping except I feel like I'm trying too hard for making this product work on my lashes. I do however very much appreciate that they produce natural products so even if I may not use this as my primary mascara I will continue to use it.

The bristles on the mascara applicator are dense, but you can pick out each one when you are looking closely. The wand itself is inflexible.

There is some excess product on the tip of one of my lashes here, but you can see the rest of them are nicely defined which is great. It just lacks volume on me and that's unfortunate.

Mascara Junkies Rejoice! Mascara Reviews.

In an already saturated market where every major make-up brand has at least one mascara to offer, the consumer faces the dilemma of which mascara to choose. If you have the time and patience, you can go from one make-up counter to another trying different mascaras. You might also be able to grab some sample sized tubes, but for most people, it's not a very efficient process so then where do girls and mascara junkies alike get the most bang for their buck in a single trip? This fall, the answer is Sephora's Favorites: Lash Stash.

Sephora Lash Stash

It's a sample pack with 10 different brands of mascara and all of them are generally agreed by bloggers and magazines to be great products. It's really brilliant marketing on Sephora's part, because of the sheer value this sample pack offers. I have been using a drug store brand and it costs about $10 for one full sized tube, but if I was using say, Fiberwig or Tart's Lights Camera Action (both of which I bought before) they cost $20+ easily. Lash Stash is priced at $54 in Canada and $45 in the States and in addition to the 10 tubes of mascara, it comes with a small sample sized lash primer by Tarte and a set of Sephora brand false eyelashes with Sephora's eyelash glue. Straight off of Sephora's website, the set comes with

If you like or use any of the mascaras in this set and wouldn't mind paying a bit more to try other top rated brands, this is really a steal of a deal. And if you use mascara everyday, the entire set would probably last you a year. It's also a good set to start with if you are just getting into mascaras and lash related products in general.
